Our Mission

To supply a superior quality range of meat and value added meat products to the market - accomplishing this through business partnerships with farmers, other suppliers and the consumer. To adhere to auditable quality standards and quality assurance. To be acutely aware and responsible of our footprint and to be prudent in all our production processes in our responsibility to the environment. At RTV we will continue to strive towards improving the working environment we offer our employees. We will also always strive to maximize our success and actively seek out new domestic and export opportunities.

RTV, started as a one man operation in 1988 in an effort to increase profitability by shortening the supply chain. It all started with a pig farm wanting to earn more for its pork.

RTV is an abbreviation for Rietvalei, which is the registered farm name where the first piggery was built in 1982.

Contract slaughtering took place initially at the then Renown pork packers and in 1991 moved to Abakor's Benoni abattoir .In 1994 Abakor stopped trading and RTV Pork Marketers cc purchased the equipment from Abakor and the right to slaughter from Benoni municipality. In 1998 RTV purchased the property from Benoni Municipality. In 2007 RTV Meat Marketers diverged into beef and mutton slaughtering and purchased PK abattoir and farm in the Devon district. Also in the same year RTV purchased the well known RWS factory situated at Lincoln road no 9.

All pigs are slaughtered at the Benoni abattoir. There is also a primal cutting plant adjacent to the abattoir doing 20 tons of pork primal cuts per day. At Benoni beef is also slaughtered.

At PK abattoir only halaal slaughtering is done i.e. only beef and mutton.

At the so called Lincoln 9 facility all value adds and processed meat products are manufactured being supplied to catering facilities, restaurants and other retail outlets.

During 2001 RTV opened a factory shop next to the abattoir supplying retail meat products .in 2010 a new up market shop was opened in Boksburg also supplying a complete range of products direct to the public.


Currently RTV owns two piggeries in the Delmas district produce most of its maize and soya for its own pigs and manufactures all its own pig food. At the feed mill a very good quality dog food is also manufactured using mostly own produced raw materials. The farming operation also comprise of a grass farming division producing 15 000 bales of grass per annum.

RTV Meat Marketers (Pty) ltd currently employ approximately 400 employees.
